About Opti
As Optikinetics moved into the 1990's new lighting products like
the Solar System and Club Strobeflower continued to be developed.
Throughout the early 1990's custom gobos and effects were
becoming more popular and in demand.
To that end in house custom
gobo design, production and
etching was started in 1994.
In 1995 came a full Mac
studio followed by many
more standard effects and
custom dichroic coloured
gobos in 1998.

In 1995 Trilite took on its first major commission for aluminium fabrication not linked to Trilite. It was a
sculpture called Ether 1 which was manufactured in the UK, shipped and installed in the grounds of the
UN head quarters in Geneva within 3 weeks of the initial brief (spot the OPTI Directors getting their hands
dirty). Since then there have been many custom applications indoors and out.
Also in 1995 the K Range was launched with the K2
at the PLASA exhibition in London, England.

The K4 was launched in 1996 to replace the Solar
575 in response to demand for a lighter cooler running
projector with the same high light output.
Only the K4, from the K Range, remains in production.
The K1 was replaced by the reintroduction of the
Solar 250 which had it's long run briefly interrupted
by changes in CE regulations.
